Low Idle

Postby cbacarisse » Wed Sep 12, 2012 7:38 pm

I've noticed my 2010 Pathfinder SE has been idling rough lately(rougher than normal) when sitting at red lights. When in gear it idles at about 600RPM whether the AC is on or not. Is that low? When it's not in gear it still idles about 600RPM but it's not as rough, but it is still rough.

My Pathfinder has always vibrated more on idle that other cars/trucks that I've owned, I figured it was just a characteristic. It has 31K miles on it.

have the same issue, and I actually just posted also. Have 37K, and when I first got it it, the idle was around 800, and about a week ago, the idle was just above 500 when I'm on a red light, or on park. It's even worst when I have the AC on, and when it kicks in during idle, its really bad. So soon for a tune up I'm assuming.... well, hopefully the dealer will be able to fix the issue. Going in for 30K miles service.

Was the battery disconnected at any time or any changes made to the engine (aftermarket intake, etc.)? Sounds like it needs an idle air volume relearn.

go to the nissan service and have them re-learn the idle... they did this today for me and it was as smooth as it can be now!

good luck!
