95 Pathfinder wiring issues! Need help

Postby 95Pathfinder24 » Thu Mar 07, 2013 11:14 pm

I have a 95 Pathfinder. It is bone stock and has 212,XXX miles. When I turn my headlights on that is all that comes on. None of my dash lights come on anymore and neither do my running lights in the rear. I have no idea what it is and I just got a ticket for the taillights last night. I need help to fix this problem.

Check the fuse, first. If it's blown, check the bulbs. Often the bulb contacts will "mushroom" and cause a short at the tail lamp bulbs. Another possibility is a bad illumination switch (aka "cluster dimmer switch").

The only thing is would that cause all of those lights to go out at once? the fuse is fine.

Check your dimmer switch. I had a similar problem with my 89 hardbody pickup. There was a short in the dimmer switch but I looked all over before looking at the switch.

Should be on the dashboard, usually just below the cluster.

On my 89 truck it was on the left hand side just below the cluster
