open and close windows with remote

Postby rhondas » Mon Sep 02, 2013 12:50 am

2003 pathfinder Le , it was raining hard I thought I could close the windows from my remote, it opened them further, I pushed Evey sequence to try to get the window to shut or close , nothing worked , is there a trick for this?

You won't find any car that can roil up windows from a remote. It a safety issue, someone could get a finger caught in the window as it's being roiled up.
Then again I didn't know PF's could roll down there windows using the remote. Will have to re-check my 2012 Silver edition manual. My 2011 Honda Pilot had remote windows which was nice on hot days but traded that car for the PF.

i had a 96 maxima that did that too. the unlock button on the remote would put the windows down and open the sunroof if you held it. but you had to actually go to the car to close everything. however i found out with the pathfinder if you hold the key in the door in the lock button it will close all the windows and if u hold in the unlock, it will roll down the front windows

My 96 & 03 Maximas as well as my 08 Pathy do this. Remote roll down, and stick the key in and depending on the direction you turn, windows up or down.

Unfortunately, the 00-01 Maxima's do not have this option, wondering if any 00-01 Pathy owners have found the same.

A lot of R51 owners wish they did NOT have this option, having the windows roll down on them when they are away from the car. It's a bad day when it's raining and this happens!

Even worse when it snows. Had that happen ion my 96 Maxima. Thought my windows were blown out, but it ended up being my remote was tucked under me while sleeping.

I like this feature. I have a Lexus and if you hold down the lock icon on the remote the windows and sunroof open. Its helpfull in the summer, in order to air out the car. The only way to close the windows on your Pathfinder is to add a aftermarket alarm with a window module. This will allow you to open and close your windows without puting the key in the ignition or the driver door cylinder.

I have 2 key fobs with my pathfinder. One OEM and one after market. The OEM one rolls the windows down, but not up. The after market one rolls the windows up, but not down.

It's driving me insane.
