damn that sucks about the clip breaking. so it broke after having it in for 7 months? did it happen while driving? i have the 5100s right now. i'd love to swap out for the rancho adjustables. i still get way too much dive/lift when braking/accelerating.

thought i had already done this, but didn't see a post by me...

Model year- 2008 LE v8

Lift height:1", 2", 3" etc....- 2ish

Type of lift: suspension? body lift? or both? suspension for now, contemplating the 3" body

Brand: type of struts/springs used. Or type of spacer used, or both.(maybe posting a link to what you bought would help) : got the 4x4parts deluxe kit - 5100 bilsteins in front, new springs and hd bilsteins in back, plus airlift in back

Hows the ride compared to stock- heckofalot better. -this- is what a stock ride should feel like, not the mush that it really is.

How long have you had the lift installed- 12mo

If you had to do it again would you change anything- i think the rear springs are ok, but maybe a little stiffer/adj shock for the back. also i wish i would have gone with the rancho adj coilovers in the front. the front spring still sucks and you can't fix that with a strut alone (but the 5100 does help a little)

problems you ran into- couldn't get the spring compressor i rented from autozone to fit in between the spring coils, so ended up taking the whole strut assembly to local shop to have them swap struts out for $50 each.

what brand/size rims/tires your using- bfg 285/65/18's on stock 18x7.5in rim.

i flipped the top pic so the pathy would be facing the same direction in the before/after.

Yes it broke while driving and after being in just 7 months, I was doing about 35MPH thru a left curve when it happened, ended up side swiping another vehicle.

Insurance totaled it, with only cosmetic damage and a broke shock so I took it back and currently am rebuilding her to be better than before.

Yes, The clip ring that holds the bottom cup at the different points on the shock broke, I tried finding it after it happened but no luck.

I agree that is a crazy thing to happen. Looks like it could have rasily resulted in much more damage. Makes me glad I went with the rancho setup. I like the adjustability option and it defiantly gets rid of the dive of the front end while braking / accelerating. I have mine set quite high at 7 in front and rear with airbags at 15ish psi. It rides like a truck now which is what I want out of the pathfinder, not soft and squishy like the factory parts.

put bigger tires on it, 285/75s? it will look lifted.

I would not do a 3" body lift, seriously screws with the vehicle.

Model year- 2011

Lift height:1", 2", 3" etc....- 2-2.25

Type of lift: suspension? body lift? or both? Suspension

Brand: type of struts/springs used. Or type of spacer used, or both : Rancho Quick Lift loaded front struts and Rancho Spacers in rear with Bilstein HD rear shocks.

Hows the ride compared to stock- Much better. The adjustable front Rancho's allow you to dial in the ride comfort you want, based on the roads you are travelling on. The Bilstein HD's and air bags in the back, improve the ride, for the OEM springs.

How long have you had the lift installed- 4-5 months

If you had to do it again would you change anything- Not yet. Ride is much improved, for the driving I do.

Problems you ran into- Tried the 4x4Parts rear HD springs and did not get more than a 1/2" lift, changed to the spacers. The HD springs made it too difficult to reinstall the Firestone Coil-Rite Air Bags and could not reinstall. Minor rubbing at rear of front wheel wells, with hard turns, at slow speed, with the larger tires. Would require hammering a portion of the body, behind the plastic inner wheel well.

What brand/size rims/tires your using- Stock 18" wheels with BF Goodrich All Terrian T/A KO'a LT285-65R18

Just bought my 2011 Pathfinder Silver edition in Silver. Oly's rig is now the inspiration for mine. Lift is on order.

Talked to the guys at 4x4parts.com. Placed an order for the Bilstein 5100 ride height adjustable shocks, the Bilstein 5100 series rear shocks, rear spacers, and camber alignment bolts. Also ordered a set of the Airlift 1000 airbags for towing and to increase rear stability.

Hoping to do a build thread in the next couple of weeks.

Thanks Doc.

Thanks canderso. There are a lot of good threads and information, on this site, which helped me make my decisions. All I can say is it rides better, feels better and looks better than it did before Good luck with the mods and post some pictures.
