Have any of the 2 inch lifts had any adverse affects on other suspension parts? Say excessive bushing wear? Links being worn or ball joints crapping out prematurely? I just installed the airlift 1000 & the more I read on the 2 inch the more I get the itch to pick one up for my self. I'm a believer that if you go changing things there are bound to be some problems down the road... but if not I believe I'll be pulling the trigger. I'm shooting for adjustable height in the front to keep things level.

2" Suspension Lift
3" Body Lift
35" Tires

The stock pathfinder does drive more like a car.
If you go the upgrade path, it will drive more like a truck.
That being said...it's very stable at highway speeds and I haven't encountered any problems!

touckdown!! OMG!! My new fav!!
guessing thats a custom rear bumper? also, how do you find the 35's? any rubbing? what did you do to counter it?

also im guessing that you have a 2" lift (a complicated one) and a 3" body lift?

Here's a link to some more pics of that rear bumper: http://www.thenissanpath.com/viewtopic. ... highlight=
The 35's actually fit the back without any rubbing (except a wheel spacer). For the front, you just have to cut (and grind) toward the bottom of the wheel wells a little.
Props on your pathy
My new fav!!
Thanks guys, I appreciate it! :)

Touchdown, as said by another poster props for sticking with the factory wheels. Love em man, that is one beautiful machine you made there. I would Love to drive that for comparison purposes to mine.

Good work man!

Hey, post a few pics from the front and rear so we can see those wide tires.

I agree, maybe go with black paint.

Some places wont mount such a wide tire on a wheel that width, but I guess it just takes a little leg work in order to find someone that will actually do it. Minimum wheel width recommendation for that tire is 9" width, and the OEM wheels are 7.5" wide.

I can see that being an issue with low profile tires on cars like 35-45 series, but on a large tires like that with plenty of sidewall to take some of the slack, should be fine.

Thanks for the compliments guys!
I'm still working on it though...

NmexMAX, I will give you full credit for finding the absolute maximum tire size for our trucks. I copied what you had already working! :)

I'm planning on taking it to an OHV park this weekend and see if anything rubs...should be fun!

Sorry this is so long, lots of ideas/questions to run past you guys after reading alot on here...

Hi Everyone! I'm planning a 2 inch lift. I'll be driving on and off-road and occasionally towing heavy loads as well. Not going to be adding anything heavy like a bumper or anything, though I will be carrying some heavy gear inside pretty regularly.

I've read this whole thread as well as many others.

My goal is to lift my Pathy while preserving suspension travel, having good on and off-road driveability, and not running into any alignment issues. I'm not bothered by the rake, so I'm not necessarily looking to get rid of it.

Radflos, unfortunately, aren't in the budget, and I'm going to avoid OME because of cost for the springs and shocks/struts as a package and the difficulties with alignment some members seem to have had.

Currently, these are the options I'm considering:

Front: Either Bilstein 5100 or Rancho QuickLift/QuickLift Loaded

Rear:
Shocks: Either Bilstein 4600/HD or Rancho RS9000XL
Springs: Stock with Airlift 1000
Spacers: Rancho urethane or PRG machined aluminum

All ideas welcome!!!

Questions:
1. Bilstein - According to their catalog and a call to company HQ, they don't actually make a 5100 for the front or rear of the R51. Also, the 4600/HD isn't meant to be used with a lift. This doesn't seem to be a problem, though, as many on here are running this setup very successfully based on what I've read. The part number I've seen on the Bilstein 5100s being used on the front of R51s is 24-187053. Are there any others or would this be the best? How about the 4600/HD for the rear, is everyone running the 24-186919? Thoughts???

2. Rancho - It seems like the Rancho QuickLift/QuickLift Loaded is pretty well liked by those who have them on the front end, but any opinions either way are more than welcome. Some have had problems with durability of the RS9000XL, though, with them seeming to die quickly sometimes. Thoughts? Anyone here with a higher mileage RS9000XL install?

3. Stock Springs/Airlift - Alot of members running this, so it seems like a good setup, but all ideas welcome!

4. Spacers - I'd like to avoid squeaking/sagging over time if possible. I see alot of members are running the Rancho uethane spacer in the rear. Thoughts on this vs a metal spacer like the PRG?

Thanks!!!

You've probably seen some of my posts about this (I feel like a broken record or rancho salesman at this point), but I would recommend my set up (see my signature) without hesitation. One thing I would add and might still do for myself is to get the remote control for adjusting the shocks since the adjustment knobs are somewhat difficult to see and turn when the wheels are mounted. Also, I can't tell you how necessary the SPC upper A arms are since they went on the same time as the loaded strut assembly, but I certainly like the adjustability and extra clearance they provide. Based on my research before I bought the 9000xls for myself, I'm pretty sure rancho has resolved the leaking problems that apparently plagued earlier models.

Rancho loaded lift in front with SPC A arms; Rancho 9000XL struts with spacers and Airlift 1000 in back.
dcommoncents has a nice setup and I have heard good things about the Ranchos! After having the Bilsteins in the front for a while, I'm not sure I'm a fan. It could be the spring too, but either way I'm moving on with something different very soon!

Thanks alot for the reply, dcommoncents! I just checked out your previous posts to make sure I didn't miss anything before replying back... Lots of good stuff. Your truck looks great, by the way!

About how many miles do you have on the lift?

Did you do your Airlift 1000 install before or after the lift? Would there be any disadvantage to doing the Airlift install before the Rancho lift? (Not sure if it would make placing the spring spacers more difficult, etc.)

Also, I really like the way you did the L bracket to the body to hold the Airlift valves, and the location you chose, too.

I definitely like the idea of a remote control as well for the same reasons. I read that Rancho discontinued the MyRide, though. Not sure if there are other options out there, though???

Those SPC upper A arms are really sweet. Extra travel and easier alignment- awesome! Not sure if they're in the budget right now, but they sound like a great idea, so I may have to make some more room in the budget, lol. Hadn't been considering anything like that up to this point.
