Brake proportioning shouldn't be an issue. The V6 and V8 Pathfinders both use the same rear brakes (and obviously the body is the same) and while there are several master cylinder part numbers, I did find the same master cylinder part number used on both a V6 and V8 Pathfinder. I also haven't heard any issues from anyone that's done it.
As for me, I just finished ordering the rest of the parts for my 2006 LE AWD. I went the "performance" route rather than the low cost route. The cost of everything to do the front and rear brakes, with hoses, DOT 5.1 fluid, etc. and shipping/tax costs came out to around $1030 with some bargain hunting. Also, the prices don't include core charges as they will be returned. Here's the list:

Power Stop S2870B front caliper set w/ brackets $176
Power Stop S2994A rear caliper set w/ brackets $78

Dorman HW1457 brake hose clips (optional) $1.20
Shipping costs: $32
Autohance.com:

(Note: if you need hoses for a 2" lift, it's 2-21114 and for a 4" lift, it's 4-21114)
