The Nissan Path

Hi there,
I am new to the forum. I have a 2006 Pathy SE 4x4.
I have noticed lately abnormal engine noise at 2500rpm when accelerating and also a loss of power. Especially when going uphill and towing a 3000lb trailer.
Anyone had a similar issue? Mechanics seem to think it is a clogged catalytic converter.

welcome. not sure what that noise and loss of power could be. have you tried towing the trailor with premuin fuel on the same hill? just a thought
