Just found this forum, am impressed.
I have a Silver 06 Pathy LE 4WD, 4.0L (only 2 options here, SE or LE both 4WD)
otherwise known as The Silver Surfer (it surfs the sand dunes!!)
Great truck, taken it on many desert trips, intense power but the low groundclearence is its main downfall. I damaged both front and rear bumpers in the desert and ended up buying a Nissan Patrol for the trips.
Mountain trails is where the Pathy really exceeds, narrow body (compared to the patrol), plenty of grunt for steep inclines and a smaller turning radius for those tight curves
The wife has since claimed the Pathy, but I wont let it go that easily, she has to fight for it!!
U dont know how happy I am to find this forum,
Cheers

Welcome to the forum, is the UAE supplied with Barcelona or US built gasoline Pathfinders, looking through some of the area Nissan websites I don't see the diesel offered.

Thanks for the warm welcome.
Over here only two models are available SE & LE, both 4WD and only 1 engine, the 4.0L petrol.
Not so big on Diesels here.

so happy to find a fellow UAE pathy owner!!
Ive not yet taken mine to the desert, but am curious to know how it performed, only taken it to the beach and some other soft sand situations just to get a feel of it..

Hey coom, sorry for the delay in response, regarding ur Q, pathys perform fantastic on long swaying dunes, a bit restricting on the smaller choppy ones due to the large turning radius. Cresting is a bit of a no brainer due to the lower ground clearance, but have just installed a 2inch OME lift........brilliant,much better ride, just looking at bigger boots now.
Engine response and power are amazing and the gearbox is sooooo smooth, just done over 103K and much of that offroad, no issues whatsoever. take her out, get her sandy the weather is with us!!!!
Have replaced both bumpers twice, hopefully for the last time now.
U in AUH or up north??

Never had a diesel then?
Would like to see your truck against my chipped turbo diesel in a straight line
You would be very surprised!

would be interesting but they way the V6 pulls over 100 mph its put a an x5 to shame,I wonder how fast it would go without the limiter.

well i got to 120 on the general grabbers i have on the truck now and that was at about 2500 feet above sea level and aside from a leaky weather strip all was well and the vq just pulled at 5000 revs and sounded perfect. it was just me and and another person and some luggage in the back i was very impressed. no for explore could do that.
