We bought a Pathfinder from new 3 years and seven months ago. Its our fifth Nissan and like the others has proved reliable EXCEPT a month or so ago the rear door handle which is plastic broke off. Its a clean break and a result of either poor design or a manufacturing defect. Cost of the handle is some $60 odd but to fit it without painting is $174.So a $250 plus bill!!
I contacted Nissanand after some toing and froing with Nissan and the dealer where we bought the car Nissan told us that as it was out of the 3 year warranty they were not prepared to make any contribution to the part cost or its replacement.
Of course they have no legal obligation but it is most disappointing that Nissan have adopted this attitude given our ownership track record and the fact that the part failed after 43 months,
Has anyone had a similar problem with their Pathfinder,(There seems to be some anecdotal information on other forums that it has happened to other Pathfinder owners.
Also is the letter of the law approach usual with Nissan.
We are most disappointed with them and it will obviously be a factor when we look at buying our next new car, plan to get a payday loans in Georgia
to buy a new car.
