Tyre sizes and best Tyres?

Hi guys
I've recently purchased a 1999.5 pathfinder.
I am slowly going to turn this car to an aggressive offroader!
What are the biggest Tyres I can put on it at the moment without a lift kit.
And what Tyres have you guys got? I have currently go bridgestone duellers
245/70/16.
