Hey guys and gals.
Purchased a 2007 Pathfinder SE on Wednesday.
Love the dark gray charcoal color, tinted windows, running boards, color coded mirrors and mud flaps.
Hopefully I won't run into the tranny coolant problem that seems to be evident, I bought a 2 year 24000 powertrain engine warranty so fingers crossed if it does screw up - it does so before the 23999th mile!!!
I have a few questions.
1) How easy is it to remove the stock basic audio head unit and replace it with something better like a Sony unit?
This is what I have for reference

2)The vehicle only came with a key -no fob, can anyone recommend a place I can buy a key fob online and is it true I can program it myself?

Welcome!
My pathfinder only came with one remote. I bought one for about $20 on ebay and programmed it using instructions I found on this forum. I assume the remotes are the same for 05 and 07's.
If you don't do the bypass right away definitely do it before your warranty expires. And I don't mean 10 miles before either, give yourself a few thousand miles so that if there was any contamination in the transmission before doing the bypass it would be noticeable while you're still under warranty.

Ok my problem is I don't know a whole bunch about car engines and the like, therefore I wouldn't feel comfortable doing it myself.
Could I take this to my local nissan dealer or my mechanic and ask them to do it (would they know what to do)
I've read on other forums that you can replace the radiator completely to avoid this problem is that true?

Its not complicated at all but I was a little apprehensive before doing it and I've done all the maintenance on my cars for years. You should be able to take it to a mechanic and have them do it. It cost me under $10 in hose fittings and probably 30 minutes to do it so they shouldn't charge too much.

The coolant checks out good on the car nice and green, I can't find the Tranny cap/dip stick but if the coolant is nice and green no need to worry for now, correct?
My brother in law can do the bypass he has done a smiliar job on an older nissan he used to have.

The tranny dipstick is on the passenger side or the engine back toward the firewall. It has a 10mm nut locking it down so its easy to miss.
