I just got my 2005 Pathfinder SE 5 days ago, and decided to Google the shuddering I've noticed ever since the trip home. Well, I ended up here, and decided I might as well join and introduce myself.

Anyway, here's my Pathfinder and what it's replacing: http://i.imgur.com/Z8AuBNA.jpg (I chose to just link to it because it's a large picture).

I'm 20 years old and a full-time student. My parents were awesome enough to buy me another car (my second thus far), but they wanted me to get something bigger for safety reasons. I'm obviously not going to argue with someone willing to buy me a car, so I set about looking for a used Pathfinder in good condition. After looking for a couple months, I found the one I now own in St. Louis, MO with 90k miles on it.

It's not exactly my preferred style of vehicle, but I've really been enjoying it (even with all of the defects).

welcome!

biggest thing would be to get the radiator changed out. otherwise you're gambling on when (not if) the radiator fails and mixes the transmission fluid and radiator fluid and then you have to replace your transmission!

i'm at 77k and will be doing mine this summer.

Thanks!

I'll certainly be replacing the radiator when I get enough money, but I think it may be too late. It's hard to tell if there's coolant in the trans fluid from the dipstick alone, but given the symptoms, it seems really likely.

I'm waiting on a call back from the dealership I got it from; the trans should be covered under their warranty, as far as I know.
