Hey there... Anyone want to take a guided tour at Rausch Creek on 8/31. It would be great if we could get a bunch of us together and do a ride.

I'd be interested in heading out there sometime soon, but I don't think any time in august will work for me. Maybe mid-september?

ok. the guided tours are only once a month. I haven't been there yet but they pretty much guarantee that you don't damage your truck and stock trucks are welcome.

Rausch is always a fun time. I haven't been since getting rid of my Xterra as my 4Runner isn't road legal.

For those interested in going, I would remove your running boards and mudflaps prior to going - things happen and it will only take you an hour or so to remove and could save yourself some damage. Dropping off of a rock or a log the wrong way can eat one up pretty quickly and the running board will typically fold and cause damage to your rocker panel.

That being said, I've seen folks with running boards and mudflaps do just fine - just be careful of the lines you take.

Food for thought~

Emailed rausch creek this afternoon, and they just got back to me. The next 3 dates are 8/31, 9/28, and 10/26. I am hoping the 9/28 works for me. By then I should have some free time, and my lift and new tires should be on.

I plan on running the rancho quicklift loaded in the front, with either the rancho 9000xl or the bilstein 4600 in the rear with the 2" rancho spacers. i'm going to throw a set of airlift bags on too. Since I have an '07 LE, I have the 17" rims, so my tire choices a re a little limited, but I really like the toyo open country at2 in 285-70-17.

if yiu would. .. keep me jnformed of hkw the 285-70-17's fit and if there is any rubbjng issues. when I get the money I want to run those as well. I have 4 new tires on now and don't want to waste money also. let me also know when u book the September ride. I might join u.

yeah, no problem. like I said, with everything I have going on in august, I don't have time to get the work done to my truck or take a trip to rausch creek. if that changes, I will get in touch with you. are you definitely doing the 8/31 trip?

i'll keep you posted on the tires and if I book the September trip. i'm sure that i'll want to get a few trucks together to head out there

always important to check with the wife. mine actually wants to come along and see what offroading is all about. she's cool like that. lucky me
