ended up trading the pathfinder for a 2010 QX56 on friday.

LOVED my pathy, but we're starting a family and I wanted something bigger, and with the exhaust leak (manifold busted at the collar that connects to the b pipe) i figured i might as well trade it at @109k

besides, there was a smokin deal on that qx. this one is the last model year to be based on the armada. luckily i am able to still use my bully dog on it, and had i not just thrown away my stock intake, i could have probably transferred my airraid to it as well.

The V8 Pathfinder owners are dropping off like crazy. I ended up trading mine in about 3 weeks ago for a 2015 Grand Cherokee EcoDiesel. I love the MPGs it provides both towing and not daily driving. My 08 V8 never gave good MPGs. Good luck with the QX. Looks like a nice ride.

nice. i do like those GCs....and now that they have diesel, whoo boy! also just helped a buddy put a lift on his GC...

in going to the qx i -may- actually gain an mpg, since i'm not lifting it or putting larger tires on :)

So far I'm loving the MPGs of the Diesel. Plus it tows my Travel Trailer better than my Pathfinder. I actually looked into buying a left over 2014 Armada, it probably would have towed my trailer better it still would have returned the same MPGs.

I've been drooling over the Ram 1500s with ecodiesel. But $55k for the one I want... it'll have to wait! Vehicles are pricey up here in canuckland.

Talked to a buddy who has one, he said it's great, but echoed something that people on this forum have talked about, the payload isn't great. He does have an auxiliary fuel tank which is about 500lbs loaded, but even with out that he said he goes over on payload when pulling his travel trailer. It still pulls it, but he's a LEO and doesn't want to be caught exceeding gvw restrictions.

What's the payload rating for the GC?

While yes they can be expensive I think the cost might be offset by the decrease in fuel consumption. Here in Utah Diesel is also about 15 cents cheaper than gas. Here's some info on the Jeep Grand Cherokee (WK2):

2014-2015 Towing Capacity

3.0L V6 CRD models have a maximum towing capacity of 7,400 lbs. / 3400 kg (2WD) and 7,200 lbs. / 3,300 kg. (4WD).
3.6L V6 models have a maximum towing capacity of 6,200-lbs. / 2818 kg. (2WD or 4WD).
5.7L V8 models have a maximum towing capacity of 7,400 lbs. / 3400 kg. (2WD) and 7,200 lbs. / 3,300 kg. (4WD)
6.4L V8 models have a maximum towing capacity of 7,200 lbs.

2014-2015 Maximum Payload

Laredo V6: 1180 lbs. (2WD) 1320 lbs. (4WD)
Limited V6: 1160 lbs. (2WD) 1270 lbs. (4WD)
Overland V6: 1090 lbs. (2WD) 1150 lbs. (4WD)
Summit V6: 1090 lbs. (2WD) 1050 lbs. (4WD)

Limited V8: 1170 lbs. (2WD) 1290 lbs. (4WD)
Overland V8: 1090 lbs. (2WD) 1150 lbs. (4WD)
Summit V8: 1090 lbs. (2WD) 1050 lbs. (4WD)
SRT8 V8: 1350 lbs. (4WD)

Limited V6 CRD: 1160 lbs. (2WD) 1270 lbs. (4WD)
Overland V6 CRD: 1090 lbs. (2WD) 1170 lbs. (4WD)

Oh man, hate to see you go. I think you provided a lot of people with much useful information over the years from your experience with your Pathfinder. It was the best looking one on here... Thanks for sharing!

I loved your build threads.
I agree on the diesel. Even my V6 LE does pretty abysmal on gas, I wish we got the diesel version here.

That said. You wanted something BIGGER than a pathfinder? I can sleep in the back of mine and I once lost my wife in the cavernous back. I don't even think I can fit something bigger on my driveway.
(altho I do have 4 cars, ahem)

ha, thanks guys.

yeah, i wanted something bigger. the pathy was ok, but i felt it was too small to load me and wife + kid + 1 set of grand parents (or other guests) + luggage in it. or me and wife + kid + dogs + luggage, at least without throwing things on top or in a hitch storage box. with the "armada 56" there's plenty of inside room for all that :)

and i do fit the qx in the garage (i back it in).....with about 4 inches to clear the garage door in the front and about 18 inches from the garage wall in back.
