Would 18" Rims Mean Bigger/Better Brakes?

Hello everyone,,,
As seen in this photo of the Lotus E23 riding test rims, the brakes have A LOT of clearance. Would teams be inclined to use bigger assemblies (rotors/pads/actuators) that fill more of the available space? Or would they keep current sizes and use the new space to benefit cooling? Or, most likely, a compromise of the two?...

Pranit, I cannot see the pic.. but in general yes bigger wheels allow more room for bigger brakes.
Some brake kits are sold as "sized for z inch wheels" etc

Like others have said, bigger brakes could effect temperatures. To what degree (heh) I don't know. The main thing I would think about would be stopping force. But, as I'm sure you've seen, the drivers have no problem locking up the tires. Thus, unless you improve the grip of the tires, you can't get more braking force. Bigger brakes would just mean it's easier to lock up the tires. So I would imagine that they may increase the size a little bit, but not by much. Another thing to account for is the weight of the brakes. The bigger they are they heavier they are. Since you won't seen a large increase in braking performance (again, as far as I know of), having them fill all the space would almost be unnecessary.

Mostly, it'd probably come down to cooling. Larger brakes could probably get away with less cooling, allowing teams to reduce the size of the brake ducts. They would also probably maintain temperature better, making it easier to stay within the ideal temperature once the brakes have been warmed. Shareit https://get-vidmateapk.com
