The Nissan Path

My 2007 PF had the paint fail in the back. Most of the paint on the back gate is cracking and in one spot the body actually cracked open (to the exterior). Anyone else have this happen to them?

I am going to make an appointment to get the shop to look at it, but I wanted to know if this is a common issue.
