Had it for 600 miles, and I notice this?

Okay, so I've got my newtome Pathy, and I've put 600 miles onto the 53000 it came with. The past 2 days (of the 5 I've owned it) I've noticed the Oil Pressure acting hinky. Every now and then, when I stop at an intersection, it tanks and the idiot light flashes on for a sec, then goes off, and the pressure gauge goes back to the middle. Here's a video (PLEASE forgive the Madonna in the background, XM 80s channel was on, and my daughter was dancing).
PLEASE tell me this is something people have seen.
Also, Everytime I start the engine cold, a pure white smokescreen puffs out the exhaust. I may be ignorant, but the only other V8s I've owned were an '02 Dodge 2500, and a '72 AMC Javelin SST. The SST blew a cloud, but I don't recall the Dodge doing this much. It this normal?

I have an 08 V8 with 25k. Check your oil level. Looks/sounds like a possible faulty sensor.
The white smoke is not normal. Check your coolant level. Oil will burn blue out the tailpipe. White is usually an indication of coolant being burned.

Let us know what you find on oil and coolant levels.

I had a similar problem in my Titan regarding the white smoke. It was caused my the dealer pitting too much oil in during a routine oil change. Took it back to them and they drained a little out and all was well. No more white smoke. Although, my oil pressure gauge never did what your is doing. I'd agree with Volvite that it could be a bad sensor. Good luck!

Took it into Carmax this morning, to have them take a look. I checked the oil level, it looked okay, so did the coolant. I'll post what I find out from them. It's within 30 days of purchase, so they cover 100% of costs.

Update:
This is me, stewing. I got a call from the service manager, who told me that there is apparently "sludge" in the engine. Part of me can understand that its' relatively hard to detect, but part of me is PISSED that I had to wait an extra 3 days after my local Carmax had gotten the car transferred in from TN because they had to replace the rear caps on the luggage rack which were all scratched BEFORE I could even test drive it! A TEENY bit of confused priorities there, in my opinion. I mean, they tout that they perform a 150 bahZyllion point check list before they clear any cars "good enough" to sell for Carmax. I guess "potential for engine seizure" didn't make the cut?
Going on, the Service Manager said, "We don't think this is the right truck for you."

Uh, wait. What? "We have another one, that's a free transfer in, that you can take a look at." Free transfer my arse. I PAID to get this one in, they can sure as heckles pay to replace it. Anyway, the one that he pointed me to was a 2007, V6, with 50K on it, for the EXACT same sticker that was on mine. Uhm, my 2008, V8, with 53K on it. Tell me how THAT works....
So, I get to go to Carmax now, and spend a few hours discussing the concept of "100% Satisfaction Guaranteed" with them, Now that my "2 Car needing family" is apparently One car short of the required number of cars....
I'll let you know what I find out.

I have never heard anythink good about Carmax. One of my sons was looking at a truck and I told him to ask for a carfax on it and they lost interest in selling to him on the spot. I had heard carmax had a lot of complants for selling vehicles that had been totaled from the "Katrina" floods. that was all enough to steer us away! Hope it all works out for you.

Wow that sucks. So there is something wrong with the engine. Same price for a year older and the V6. They are trying to pull something. I'd get my money back and go somewhere else. Sorry. Let us know what they tell you about the engine and what you decide to do on another vehicle. I hope you stick with Nissan.

Well, it's all over. I am the happy owner of a different-but the same- 2008 Pathy LE. It has 62,000 miles on it, instead of 52,000, but it doesn't burn thru an entire engine full of oil in 600 miles.
The Ops Manager at my Carmax got involved, and put the Sales Mgr in his place. He took over my issue, and got it resolved. Over all, I'm happy with the solution, and what they came up with.
EDIT: fixed year of truck, it's a 2008, not a 2000.

So from your post, you said a 2000 pathfinder. Did you get an older pathfinder or another 2008?
