Hey everyone, someone told me that all nissans have a breather element on the bottom of the engine, therefore limiting the ability to drive thru water. can anyone confirm this or is it all BS...

Thanks

I know some of the Nissan cars have had a low intake inlet (not necessarily sure if they are any lower than other cars) and can suck up water when going through flooded roads (Z32's were good for this). Never heard of any issues with the trucks...but I guess it depends on how much water you are going through?

Thanks, I myself have driven thru 18" of water so I thought it was hogwash.

there's some diff breathers, however you can extend them up to high levels.

not sure how much water they can suck up, but i guess it would be possible.

my buddy has a frontier and ended up doing something like that after talking with the dealer about some issue he had after changing his rear diff cover.

Hey Doc, how many psi's do you keep in your air lift 1000. Do you know how much air you can keep in there without making the alignment go out?

i keep mine at 30-32, which is the max. however i have had mine aligned a few times with them already aired up, so my alignment isn't thrown out.

I just installed Airlift 1000's in my 07 LE. I have access to an alignment rack and I'm going to play around and see how much change in rear alignment compared to change in air pressure setting....when I get a chance.

I have 15 psi right now and i think the alignment is out. but the ride is great. The tires in the rear have 63k miles on them so if they wear out funny I will replace them and then get an alignment.

smj... where did you get your radiator. I went to nissan yesterday and they told me not to do anything. I cant believe they would say that. I would much rather put a new radiator not then both trans and radiator later.....

I got mine through Parts Express on Ebay. Back then it was $92 w/ free shipping and a lifetime warranty. It's made in China, but the fit was perfect and it appeared to be well constructed. Now they are selling them for $73. If you want more of a name brand, go with Spectra Premium. They're made in Canada and can be found for around $130-150.
