The Nissan Path

I've finally decided to start the install on my 06 Path. I'm probably going with the following:

Headunit - Double-din DVD with nav
Front Speakers - replace 6x9's with a 6.5 inch component set
Rear Speakers - replace 6.5's with a 6.5 inch mid or coax
Subs - 2 10inch or 12inch subs
Front Amp - 50x2
Rear Amp - 50x2
Subs

This install is being designed to keep my Path very fuctional. Front and rear amps will be mounted under the front seats. Sub amp will be mounted to the sub enclosure. The sub enclosure will be designed to fit behind the 3rd row seat. It will also be designed to fit perpendicular to the hatch if I need to lay down the 3rd row seat for work or one of my roadtrips.

Can't wait to see it all together. Be sure to take lots of pics along the way. Any helpful hints, bumps in the road that you come across will be much appreciated.

Have you decided on what head unit you are going to get, or at least narrowed it down? Im looking at the Alpine IVA-W200, or the Kenwood DDX6019. Thanks.

It will be either the 6019 or 8017 Kenwood. I've looked at Kenwood, Alpine, Eclipse and Pioneer. Kenwood gives lots of value for the money. Also, their new nav unit is pretty cool if you want to go that route.

Today's packages......

Been working too much. Today I had a chance to test fit the amp under the driver seat. It fit perfectly. I was able to move the seat through it's full range. Nothing to take pics of yet since this was just a test fit. It's ridiculous that even though these are the 2 smallest of the Fosgate power series amps, they'll put out some unbelievable power.

Here are the rated power specs:

50x2 @ 4 ohms stereo
100x2 @ 2 ohms stereo
150x2 @ 1 ohm stereo
300x1 @ 2 ohm mono

Now here are the bad azz specs from the certificate:

amp 1 - 227x2 @ 4 ohm stereo
amp 2 - 228x2 @ 4 ohm stereo
amp 1 - 655x2 @ 2 ohm stereo
amp 2 - 703x2 @ 2 ohm stereo
amp 1 - 901x2 @ 2 ohm mono
amp 2 - 933x2 @ 2 ohm mono

GOTTA LOVE SOME FOSGATE POWER SERIES AMPS.

I can't wait to abuse some mids and highs.............

Glad to see that there are ppl on these boards that have a love for loud music like myself.
i just purchased some punch stage 3 12" 4 ohm dvc's and a punch power td1000bd amp. and yesterday i had the cab space behind the third row measured for a trapazoid shaped custom enclosure. i plan on doing the install myself and still keep the Bose system that came witht the pathy. if you have any questions with wiring and the install just ask. i have done it quite a few times with stock head units and aftermarket. even with the difference in impedence with amps and subwoofers it can be tricky.

I definitely love it loud. I've already changed the setup that I was going with. My plan was to go with 2 T3002's and a T10001bd so that I could have front, rear and nonfading outputs, but now I'm going to just go with a single T3002 and the T10001bd. Since I've already bought the 2 T3002's, I'll be putting one in my girlfriends VW GLI. I'll be using an Kicker L7 12" on the T3002 until I get the t100001bd and 2 T1 12" fosgates. That will max out the T1's. I'm replacing the headunit along with the rest of the factory speakers..

It looks like you are hooking up all the goodies. At least you are doing it all at once. It will make it easier than taking the interior apart a dozen times.

I've done it that way before. Next on the list are my mids and high's, alarm, then headunit and nav. Nothing gets installed until I have every component.
