06 SE Auxiliary Help

I have an 06 SE Bose 6 disc with DVD player, how do I hook up an auxiliary jack? All the posts I've seen are saying to use the DVD harness. Is there a different way? Can I buy a jack that is 3.5 on one end and male RCA on the other end and just plug it into the DVD player? Thanks for any help
