2005 Pathfinder - where did you guys mount an amplifier?

I'm upgrading the stock audio system in my 2005 Pathfinder XE. I'm trying to find a place to mount the 2 amps (1 for the main speakers in the doors and 1 for the sub). I'd like to keep them hidden so it looks stock inside when someone looks in. I'm thinking under the front seats but there is a vent under the carpet which flows air to the rear passengers. What's the biggest amp that can fit under the front seats and not interfere with those vents in the floor?
Is there anywhere in the cargo area to mount the amps that they can stay hidden and out of the way when I need to haul stuff around?
Thanks!

You can have a look at the storage box below the rear seats.
I think there is room enough, unless you have it already in use.

I believe the vents are only under the passenger seat. the stock location for the Bose system amp is under the drivers seat.

There is a vent under the driver's seat as well unfortunately. Is there anywhere in the trunk to mount amps? Under the floor? on the sides?

I actually went through quite a few possible mounting points with a specialist firm. After long discussion, we gave up. I bought a self powered sub woofer which actually fit under the passenger seat! It was the only thing he had in stock which would go there.

If you do not fold your middle row flat, there is some room over the hidden storage compartment, but it would prevent you from folding the middle row, middle seat, flat.
There seems to be plenty of room under both front seats. You would have to lift the amp somehow over the vents, but just make some legs or something.

I mounted mine in the back. Along with the sub, which it takes half the space. The amp does not since is mounted on the floor where the tools to change the tire are.

My amps are mounted on my sub box which is sitting over my third row seat(folded in). I plan on building a cover at some point that should make it look pretty stock. I'll post pictures when it's done.

I've installed one under each of the front seats. I'll take some pictures later and post.

Nice man, you going to fab a shroud for those, so passengers don't get them dirty or break your RCAs?

hello , i have the bose sound system with the small subs in rear panel. i removed the panel and taken out the bose sub. now i have a 1200 watt phoenix gold amp mounted there with neon lights.it was a lot of work but it paid off because there isnt much room to place an amp out of sight.

They actually don't stick out.... the only reason you can see them there is because I have moved both seats all the way up.
The bass amp under the passenger seat does stick out a little more being bigger ... but I just put the rubber floor mat over it and it does not get affected or touched.

I had an Alpine PDX 5 channel amp mounted under the passenger seat in my 08. The installer was able to mount it and and still keep the vents functional. The amp is no larger than a width and length of a piece of letter sized paper and is about an inch tall.

Here is where I installed my 2 amps. The Audison powers the front doors and dash tweeters ( active crossovers), the Treo powers a Kicker comp VR 12"
For the Audison to fit I had to cut out the plastic tray around the amp and flatten the underbody some, then I had to remove the lower side of the latch for the cover so that the cover would sit completely flat. The only thing visible to passers by is the sub, but that will be hidden by next week when I finish installing the cargo cover (custom modified Xterra unit)
