I seem to be getting some interference in the speakers(white noise when volume is all the way down) Is there a better ground located in the back seat? would filing down the metal to remove the paint help? In have a 96 Pathy SE. I call him BART(Bad Ass Red Thing)

You definitely need to get rid of the paint where the ground is connected. Otherwise it's useless. Do you have a decent sized ground cable, 10 or 12 guage? There is an electrical jelly to help prevent rust and keep a connection after you sand the paint away. I forget what it's called, but I had to use some on my old VW for the distributor connections.

One question, are your speakers being amped?

Dieletric grease. However I would think that the threds would be clear of paint and provide more than enough eletrical contact between the lug and the body ground.

my 93 path has the same issue, and the fix is bypassing your stock amp. ive been searching all over to figgure out how to do so, so i am of no help as of now, but if you figgure out how then let me know. and it doesnt hurt to make sure all of your grounds are properly grounded, make sure your rca cables (if you have any) are on one side while your power wire is on the other side of your car. any questions just hit me up

Just clip the speaker wires for the stock amp, bypass them altogether and splice them directly together from the new HU. Or run new speaker wires. Simple job, really.
