Does anybody have pics and measurements on what space is available under the wheel well cover where the stock sub is? (2005 +) I dont want to canabalize this untill i have a game plan on what size sub may fit back in. Would love to set a custom enclosure in there with small mods to the plastic.

Not sure what you mean there...on the Pathfinder, the spare tire is stored underneath the trunk and is lowered down with a chain winch, so there's not a 'spare tire well' to use for a sub like on a Murano or something like that.

are you talking about the panel next to where the third row is? If so i will measure it out for you because i have that panel out of my truck right now. Ill post up a drawing with dimensions for you in the am. Also if you let me know what kind of sub your looking to put in that space i can give you the recommended specs for the box as well

ConstantNRG - you got it! I'd give ya rep points if this place had em' but all that's left is Karma. Are you modding the sub or it just coincidental? I am just tired of this Blows system and want it ALL out.

i have my entire trunk dissasembled because im working on my fiberglass monster for it, so all the panels are out of it.

Out of curiosity which side are you talking about? bc my truck came bone stock, so idk. It should be the driver side correct?

Stock sub is on the driver side and the grill looks like a should cover a 4x10 speaker (whatever, I wouldn't put anything past bose). Anyway - lemme know what ya see.

Anyone open this up yet? Sounds like a perfect place for a small aftermarket sub for those of us that just want 'punch' not massive bass.

It's designed to fit in the rear-most storage compartment in "trunk" area, rear of the trim panel inside the rear-passenger wheel well. $575 seems like a lot of money for this item, especially since it does not include an amplifier, but Crutchfield isn't know for having the best prices.

I think you could probably make this yourself for a couple hundred, and probably stick an amplifier right inside.

Has anyone figure this out yet? I got a system thats itching to be installed in my 06 SE (non-bose) but I really do not want to take up any room back there.

I saw that on crutchfield as well a custom seems the best way to go for a sleek factory look. As my friend did in his Pacifica added an 8" sub did a custom fiberglass enclosure and for the first time it came out pretty well

hey mna, i like the idea....and i have removed the interior panel to replace one of these crap Bose subs already. there are stock 5.5's in there. it is listed as having 5 1/4's, but that is inaccurate. the box from the factory is odd looking. that screen doesn't come off, it is plastic rivetted to the panel. i will keep this up as i am curious what you decide on.

It has two, 1-ohm impedance, round, subwoofer speakers with square brackets that are inset into a plastic subwoofer box, side-by-side. I forget the size of the speakers, but they were around 4-5". It's really not that bad to get the side panel off. Once you do it, you can do it again in about 10 minutes. You tilt the seat as needed to maneuver the panel in and out, but you don't have to remove the seat.
