Sailing the Great Salt Lake

My girlfriend had never been sailing before, so we hooked up with an interesting group of people for a Viking sail (homage to the Vikings, complete with a bonfire at the end of the day). Since we don't have squat for snow in the mountains, we really needed something to do since we couldn't ski. Normally, the Great Salt Lake has wind of some kind, but there was absolutely nothing the day we went. Cold, sunny & smoggy from the usual winter inversion.

Water was about 30F, so even though you can't sink, you only have a few minutes before hypothermia sets in.

There were 6 sailboats in total, from 26-32'. No wind meant we could lash everyone together for one big boat.
