4th of July road trip

Took the Pathfinder to my hometown of Reno & used that as a base for several day & overnight trips during the week of July 4th. Just a few samples of the local sights:
Carson City capitol building:
The State museum in Carson City, which is located in the old US Mint building:
A place called American Flats, just south of Virginia City, which is an old gold mine:
The old schoolhouse in Virginia City:
Columbia State Historic Park in California:
Big Trees State Park in California:
Indian Grinding Rock State Historic Park in California:
Crystal Peak, outside of Reno-an old quartz mine:
Independence Lake, about 20 miles north of Truckee. Great for kayaking and getting away from people:

I was in Laguna Beach all last week, but it was work related & I just knew I didn't need my camera. I was way wrong on that count, and had to rely on my crappy cell phone camera. Needless to say, I deleted all the pictures and shall never be using a cell phone camera again.
