The Nissan Path

Im fairly new to 4 wheeling, i have owned full size broncos and bronco ii.A s10 blazer and full size k5, all except the s10 blazer i always new when they where in 4 wheel drive. The s10's 4x4 didnt work, the first day i got the pathfinder i tried out the 4x4 and it seemed to work although in 4lo i couldnt get it to go over the parking block in front of it. Im not sure if this is normal for the type of 4 wheel drive vehicle it is or if im missing something here.I know it isnt going to perform like my k5 which would go over the parking block like a speed bump.The pathfinder does have manaul locking hubs which i turned in the direction the arrows pointed to 4 wheel drive, it is also a 5 speed dont know if that matters. I live in colorado and we have alot of rocky trails out here and i didnt want to get into somewhere i couldnt get out of.Any info will be much appreciated.
