hey guys, i am planning on lifting my 06 pathfinder. can somebody help me with this process? i want a 3 inch lift. where can i get the kits? do i need new shocks and struts? i still have stock ones and the car is only 67k miles on it. i would really appreciate it if somebody can help me walk through this. thanks!

Your better off going with a 2" lift. Seems to be the norm here and offers the most support and technical expertise with good results. Go to 4x4parts.com and you can see everything you need for several different lifts.

I have rancho quick lift loaded front struts with 2" of lift and rear rancho spacers for 2" of lift and bilstein Hd shocks made to work for the 2" lift. I have 285/75/16 toyo a/t tires and love the ride and look.

Alternately you can do a 2" or 3" body lift that I am not as well versed on the aspects of but I'm sure someone can chime in.

There is also a 5" kit from calmini but it is quite expensive.

It depends on what you want to use the vehicle for (looks or looks and better ride and off road). Plus what is your budget?

a 3" suspension limit will cause issues with getting alignment right. if you go with a 2-2.5" lift you can fit a bigger tire which will push over all lift to above 3 inches.

i have a 3" body lift on top of my rancho quick lift. i am currently running 295/75/16 which is 33.5". So i have a overall lift of 7-8". i got my rancho lift from amazon and my body lift from 4x4parts. i didnt change the rear springs i just used a spacer. the rancho quick lift is an all in one lift for the front. in th erear i still have the same shocks but i added the air bag load leveling bags to help with the ride. i would recommend checking out the ultimate lift thread to see which lift you like the look of and get an estimate for price. keep in mind bigger tires get expensive real quick. my next step is 35s and that will cost about a grand just in tires.

Don't forget about the spare tire too. That's another tire you need to buy when going up a size plus if you go too big it won't fit under the truck and you will need to find an alternate spot like a tire carrier which is big $$$

my budget is about $1000. i want to so some what offroading but want to get the lift mainly just for the looks. so what do you think i should do?

can i just keep my stock tires?

keeping 265s with a 3" lift is going to look silly!

$1000 budget, is that including the tires?

i dont think that will be possible. between tires and a alignment thats pretty much all gone.

i have mine ratcheted down in the trunk with the 3rd row laid flat.

on suspension lift, body lift, alignment, wheels and tires about 2100. tires were 975 just by themselves for 4.
