Im due for new tires and alignment, and since I'm closing in on 100K, thought about getting new shocks and struts. I don't want to lift any and try to go as close to OE as I can. Everyone seems to rave about the Bilstein 4600 5100s. My OR has the Ranchos stock but I don't mind switching to Bilstein. But who consistently has the best deals??

Just got off the phone with 3-4 companies and the Bilstein 4600 shocks and struts for the Pathfinders are on backorder nationwide! So looks like I'm SOL for awhile..

Yes I found that out last week I tried many places to order them with no luck. I was tempted to go with Rancho 9,000's but just not sure.

The Off-Road Ranchos are really nothing special and some shock companies cover both OR and non-OR models with a single part number. The main difference with the Bilstein is that it is a monotube shock. I went with the Bilstein HD's and am very happy with them. Many have tried the Monroe Reflex and have been happy with them. I would also think the KYB Gas-a-just shocks, which are montube, would work as well but I haven't heard from anyone that has tried them.

I think I hold off awhile longer to get the Bilstein 4600's. At least I can still buy the Air Ride 1000 kit from Amazon and pre-tend I have fresh suspension!

For me, the Airlift 1000's provided the most improvement of the rear suspension, even more so than the shocks.

I've seen the same thing, backorders on the 4600s. My question is what's the difference between the 24-197427 (4wd pathfinder) and the 24-137430 (2wd Pathfinder, 4wd Frontier, 4wd xterra)?

Can I get away with putting the 24-137430 (cheaper) on the fronts of a 05 4wd?

According to Summit's catalog, the 24-197427 shock works on both RWD and 4WD Pathfinders and the 24-137430 is for the Frontier and Suzuki Equator (rebadged Frontier). Bilstein's catalog does show the 24-137430 listing for the 2WD Pathfinder, but I think their catalog is in error. If you look up the shocks for a Pathfinder at anyone else's site, all Pathfinders show the same part numbers for the front shocks, regardless of drive type or engine type.

eBay had them the cheapest I think I got them for 75 bucks a piece for the rear

I paid $131.60 for a pair with free shipping back in May, 2014, from Autoplicity.

Just had my rears arrive. Fronts still on back order. If you don;t order them, they don't get made. I waited about 3 months for the rears. Ordered through Summit, and weren't too bad all up to ship to New Zealand.

Will try and fit fairly soon, as I'm towing this weekend and keen to see what difference they make.

I'm curious to know if I should get new shocks/struts considering I'm at 100k miles.

you can also run the 5100 shocks as well they are the same as the 4600 but nickel finish.

I just ordered the Bilstein 5100s at 4 wheel online. The sales rep offered me a price that is hard to resist. I'm planning to lift the front then use OME springs for the rear. I will post a short review once they are installed.
