My 08 SE drove fine but once I returned home and put the car into park it stayed in Reverse.

When I push the brake pedal in, I hear the solenoid noise and Im able to move the shifter from Park to all positions however the car never comes out of reverse. I can start and stop the engine but no luck with shifting out of Reverse.WTF

All the fuses look good and I reset the battery. Nothing seemed to help.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I would check the shift control cable. Possibly a bushing at the end of the cable broke?

After playing around and ripping apart my center consul it was the shift control cable. I drilled a small hole in the metal nub that holds the cable in place and used a hitch pin to secure in place. Should be good for another 175k miles.
