Chasing with wind

Hi,

how is your driving in windy conditions? I chase mine Pathfinder significantly even with moderate winds, it's quite unpleasant feeling, especially on longer trips - I am quite exhausted because I work on steering wheel all the time, trying to keep the vehicle in lane.

I've done some alignments in the past, changed steering rods and both stabilizers, and quite some components of front suspension...but I am still not comfortable during windy weather.
Could it be just bad alignemnt?
Or tires 265/70-R17?
...or, well yes, shocks are still originals, done some 180k miles...might those be guilty?

If your struts or shocks are worn out, it's definitely not helping, but I was dealing with the same thing, yesterday, in my 2006. It's basically a big sail in the wind, which is pretty normal for most SUV's.

Mine tracks fine given its shape unless there are heavy gusts.
I agree with smj that it could be worn suspension components. My previous R50 with worn shocks and struts was a PITA eVen with minor crosswinds.

at 180k miles you definitely need new shocks, you do not want to have those old ones on your car, especially if you need to swerve out the way, like the moose test...

Moog rear springs and/or airbags, Bilstein shocks, and polyurethane steering rack bushings. Don't get pushed around much anymore!
