Rear springs pathetic. Any good spacers or replacements?

I have noticed that the rear springs really have no backbone. If you have any kind of load you are always close to the bump stops. I do have the airlift kit installed and that does help overall. However the airlift kit is really a band aid when stiffer springs are needed. Even a spacer underneath the spring might help. Has anyone ever changed the spring or added a spacer? I had 500lb load in the back last week and I was an inch or two away from the bump stops. My bags were at 25 PSI.

I think OME makes some stiffer springs that you could try.

They do, but it will add about 1.5" of lift. I'm thinking that someone found some that would be stiffer, yet OEM in size. I could be wrong...

Ummm...air up the bags more. I run close to 20# empty. I've had far more than 500# back there at at 35psi it was fine. H&R makes a stiffer spring but it lowers you an inch. I'd prefer to go lower than higher so that's your call. I'm content with the bags.

I would get in touch with a spring shop and see about making a heavier set of coil springs for the rear.

The 4x4Parts.com springs are only .5" higher but much stiffer, two thumbs up:
