airlift 1000 valve core went bad

wouldn't hold air in one side, thought for sure i'd have to rip out and redo the lines.

luckily when airing up one time i heard it leaking, right from the valve stem.

never changed out a valve core, but my local auto parts store had a $5 kit that includes the little tool and extra valve cores. pretty easy to change out, the valve core just screws in like a regular screw. will report back if this doesn't fix the leak.

valve cores are really easy to change...thought they rarely go bad. I wonder if you just had a defective one. hope your problem is fixed.

yeah, i need to check it's pressure today.

and yeah they are alot easier than i thought. never had to deal with one before. just make sure you get the kit that has the little tool to un/screw them, or a pair of very very small needle nose pliers.

I've got a bunch of valve caps floating around that have a split end on them to take the stems out...usually try to keep one on most of my bikes and such.
