Need a smooth riding front shock

Guys,
I do not want any lift just a smooth ride. Pathfinder never goes off road. My question is which strut and I would love to go with quick struts and do not see these mentioned here very often.

Monroe? I havn't heard anything bad about them.

Bilstein 5100s are valved pretty soft and set them on the bottom notch for zero lift, but check out Gabriel from Autozone too, I've heard good things.

I installed Rancho Quick Lift Coil Over front struts and so far I am quite pleased. They have an adjustment dial on them so I can stiffen or soften the ride, as required. The link above is for a Rancho adjustable front strut, no lift. I am sure there are better struts, but these work for me.

Bilstein HD's. Same internals as the 5100 without ride height adjustment.

Works like magic for me...

Pretty sure the valving is a little different.

Nah. From Bilstein reps it's the same. The 5100's just give you ride height adjustment or preload. If you're not interested at all in lift then there's no reason not to go with the HD's.

Damping on the HD's is far more correct than stock; stiffer low speed compression and lighter high speed compression.

Definitely not true across the board, I have the 14" travel 5100s in my Landcruiser and they came in 2 different valving options.

Could be true for the Pathy though I guess, especially if the rep said so.

Thanks!
