Just got some new tires put on my 05 with balance and alignment and the wheel shake that I thought was from the old tires really didn't go away. its most noticeable around 60-75ish. just a slight back and forth twitching of the steering wheel. assuming the tires and wheels were balanced properly anyone else have an idea what could be the issue??

I wouldn't necessarily assume the tires were balanced properly. Anyone who knows what they are doing would first inspect the front end for worn components before they did the alignment. I would take it back to the shop and have them recheck their work.

I second the above. Tire shops are often so anxious to get you in and out that they either don't balance properly or don't identify worn front end components -- tie rod ends, bearings, etc -- which can all cause wheel shake.

Plus, most (if not all) of the R51's use stick-on weights on the inside. A lot of places see these wheels and static balance them as opposed to dynamic balance. Static balance puts the weights only on the inside lip and is not nearly accurate as dynamic balancing. Also, if they use the stick-on weights without cleaning the wheel surface properly, the weights can fall off.

Had a couple shops in the DC area balance my tires poorly, one of which failed twice. Kept me from trying anywhere other than the one shop I knew would get it right.

Never had that issue with another vehicle...

I just got new tires and had balancong issues cause they didn't want to put weights on thefront of the wheel. After I told them it was ok it solved my wheel shaking
