The Nissan Path

Ok I need to preface this with all my prior trucks have had V8's

Even my car is a V8 But my Pathy just sounds to me to have a very unpleasant exhaust note. I dont know if it is just too quiet & I hear the engine noise over the quiet exhaust or if it is just an unpleasant sounding engine.

I guess my question is if I have flowmaster type muffler put on the truck will it make happy exhaust sounds & make me grin or will it just sound tinny & unpleasant like all the idiots with loud Honda's.

I have an old 280zx with a Dynomax system on it that sounds deep & mean but it is an inline 6 & has a way smoother sound then the V (imo)

Yeah, Nissan trucks aren't going to sound like your typical American V8 trucks unless you modify the exhaust. It's one thing I like about the pathfinder - that when I punch it, I don't sound like I should have an airbrushed tailgate and my girlfriend's name on the back wind'er.

the 4.0s need to have resonators on them. if you would like i can post a video of mine with its current exhaust.

post the vid and tell us what your setup is. i'd like to hear it

Here's how it sounds. The current setup is factory manifolds custom y pipe to a two in single out magnaflow 18" muffler and factory piping from the muffler back.

I agree. My 4.0 Pathfinder sounds wheezy. My previous car was a 2001 QX4 with the 3.5, and it sounded much better.
