2008 V8 HELP! Almost stalling on the highway

I have looked around and seem to find another topic like it. I have a 08' V8 with about 88k. About a month ago I started to notice that on the highway it would randomly stall for about 5mph on the highway when you let off the gas around 50-70 mph, such as dropping a anchor type effect or tranny slipping feeling but its not that. Well today on the highway it went on the crazy side of that, anytime I would give it gas to go it would almost stall and lose power down to 1k rpm and pick back up. Didn't seem electrical as nothing dimmed just loss of power almost to the point of cutting off, so I baby it home by running less than 45 and never giving much gas. ANY ideas guys?? Thanks for your help before hand.

Is your CEL on?

wonder if a few things could be happening although these are just pure guesses as i've never heard of such a problem.

maybe throttle position sensor? i had an acura once that at 'street' speeds was fine, but at highway speeds it would basically go into limp mode.

maybe dirty/malfunction MAF sensor? you could try cleaning it and then disco'ing your battery for a few hours and have it relearn...

lose air intake hose? maybe the engine is sucking in air behind the maf, which is flooding the engine with air?

Did you figure it out, mine does it but it is inly a second or two, drops rpm a bit and then is fine, more prevalent when snowing, wondering if is spark wires?

sorry for the delay been working a new job. So I cleaned the MAF and has seemed to fix it, but funny thing is that the only time it really was bad was during the snow! I am hoping that the MAF was the trick. Thanks guys, I will keep ya updated if it changes. I did the tranny bypass yesterday by the way.

I just started experiencing this recently. while driving RPM's drop for a second or two and come back up.

Thinking back about a month ago it did this a couple times but incredibly quick almost like you wouldnt notice it. Any ideas? I know its not plugs but hoping a sesnor needs cleaned?

This happened to me as well. It ended up being a faulty Crankshaft Position Sensor. See this post:

Note that I didn't get the CEL until the truck actually wouldn't start in my driveway.

Good luck!
