Upgraded Aftermarket Camshaft question

When I had my 97 PF, I upgraded to the Nisaan Motorsports 262 cams as outlined in the "project Pathfinder" - http://www.nissanforums.com/pathfinder/ ... der-3.html. I went with those ones vs. the ones from 4x4parts.com ( https://www.4x4parts.com/catalog/index. ... th=367_130 ) because the Nissan ones were supposed to have better low-end torque. I definitely noticed an improvement when I did it.

Now I have a 2005 PF and am looking to upgrade the cams on this rig. Will the 262s work with the 4.0L engine? The cams for this motor from 4x4 are quite a bit more. Any idea if the 4x4 ones give more upper end HP as opposed to lower end torque? I should add that I'm doing this to increase hauling capacity as I'm hauling a trailer with load that would be in the 5K-5.5K range.

Anyone upgraded their cams on the 2005-2008s? I'm wondering if I need to let the powertrain warranty run out first before I can do the mods?

I see that JWT offers a cam set part number: A3503-N00S2 for the VQ40, that might be one place to start;

I talked with a tech at JWT. His comments these would work for the 4.0L engine. The gains would be in the mid-upper range. They didn't have any dyno tests on the 4.0L. They only had them for the smaller Altimas but that I should get more gains because of the bigger displacement. These cams are drop in and replace with no real change in the loping and no adjustment in the idle needed.

I was really wanting more gains in the low-mid as opposed to mid-upper RPM range. However the tech did make a good comment that if I'm hauling and loaded down, the RPM range will be in that 3k range anyways.

My problem is no one seems to have done this mod to provide feedback on it.

Thanks for checking it out. I'd be interested in low end torque lobes for potential improved economy if you find someone doing these as this truck is run at the low end of the band. Cheers.
