07 pathfinder LE. went out to check all the fluids since its a nice day. And come to find out my trans fluid was milky and radiator had obvious signs of trans fluid and rad fluid mixing together. I meant to do the bypass after my warranty was up at 100k but stuff happened and never did. Currently at 110k and have had no other issues with the truck. Dropped it off at a local shop hoping i caught it early enough and they are going to replace the radiator and flush the transmission and hope for the best. Really don't wanna spend a few k on a new transmission.

From what I've read on these forums, once the mixing occurs, that's it for the transmission. No amount of flushing will help. You will eventually need a new tranny. Good luck!

yea but hoping for the best lol it wasnt the milkshake color people had and wasnt slipping or studdering.

Get it flushed and drive it to see if it develops any symptoms. If it starts acting up later, you can always trade-it before it gets bad.

I would probably flush it a couple times. Certainly cheaper than a transmission.

shop flushed it 3 times. Said it was coming out clean the second but just to be safe. Said it wasn't nearly as bad as he thought. Going to pick it up in a little bit.

Good luck. How long do you think it was mixed up? How long since you had checked it?

Drove 10 miles and it's already slipping and shuddering. Guess I didn't catch it soon enough. Usually check all fluids at least once a month.

They used the correct transmission fluid? Funny that it wasn't slipping before you took it in but now is.

Take it to the dealer quick! There's a recall on those radiator.

it'd have to be really quick, as the OP mentioned in the first post, the truck is 10K miles beyond the 100,000 mile limitation of the extended warranty

Well the trans is shot. It is true what people say once contamination occurs no going back. Was getting quotes from local shops on rebuilds in the $2500-3500 range. Nissan told me $3,000 plus tax for a new unit and factory radiator. So that may be the route I go.

well ended up calling the dealership back to confirm everything before i drop it off and the price changed and now im not covered. spent an hour on the phone with them and nissan usa and got nowhere. It's getting rebuilt as we speak, bypass done and an upgraded trans cooler installed. Needless to say im not to happy with nissan right now.

Didn't you already have the radiator replaced?? That's how your earlier posts read. I would never have let them start on this because you had quotes to rebuild just the transmission cheaper than the deductible ($3,000). I'd pull the plug on them or get a better deal.

Also, look around for legal proceedings on this. I get the feeling Nissan only offered this extra "warranty" to help avoid class-action lawsuits. I'm sure there are still some sort of legal work on-going with this as there's been a lot of folks impacted after the 100k but still clearly caused by this known issue.
