My 2005 Pathfinder is in the shop right now getting a rebuilt transmission and new radiator installed.

Is the radiator bypass necessary now?

Did they use an OEM radiator of aftermarket? The OEM is supposed to be an updated part that won't fail and an aftermarket likely never had that problem in the first place. I didn't by-pass mine after I replaced the radiator and I wouldn't in your situation either. It would be 5 years before a problem would likely show up anyway.

You shouldn't need to bypass the radiator if you are getting a new one.
