I'm going to do the bypass on my newly purchased 05 path. Do I need to add an external trans cooler if I'm not towing?

Do I need to flush and fluids or can I do the bypass and I'm good.
My local mechanic said I should install and aux cooler cause transmissions can get hot even if I'm not towing... Thoughts?

I appreciate the help so far!!!

We have two tranny coolers. You're just bypassing one.

Just did the bypass. Everything looks good. The trans fluid didn't look compromised when I let a little drip. Has anyone noticed the hoses sliding slightly if pulled hard. One of them did for me... I'm slightly concerned it could slide off while driving... Thoughts?

Ok, which hoses do i bypass? are they located on the bottom of the radiator?

The rad going to the trans gets unplugged and connected to the other rad input. Take that second rad input and connect to the trans where you disconnected the first one.

That wasn't the answer to my question but I'm guessing they are the two small hoses on the bottom of the radiator... do I need to remove the bottom shield to do it?
