increased performance

My 06 is just about out of factory warranty & I want to bump the power.
I understand that the trrottle body from a 350 Z (vq35de) will work on my vq40de & will give about a 10 - 12 hp bump.
Any thoughts ?
Thanks.

NVRDONE,

Where did you hear about swapping the throttle body?

From a friend who is a parts manager at a Nissan dealer.

On a tangential subject, does anyone have practical experience with throttle-body spacers? Do they improve performance and/or fuel economy? Are their any negative factors or concerns to consider?

most of the performance mods for the vq40 have been exhaustively discussed at clubfrontier... that is generally where i go if i want to read up on what we can do to our engines.

as for the 350z throttle body, i dont think anyone at CF has done it. not sure if it would fit or if it would make a difference. some of the ideas the guys come up with over there are pretty off the wall, so i would think that someone has thought of it, and possibly researched it offline. i guess it would depend on the difference is sizes between the two TB's.

on CF, the general consensus is that a TBS is NOT worth the money.

Best performance upgrade for the vq40 is trading it in for the V8. Doesn't seem to be many practical mods out there for the Pathfinder.

There's the Stillen Supercharger. That'll really boost performance. Pun intended.
