Hi guys, I'm about to take on my fiancé's 2007 Pathfinder so she can get a newer car and we can save some money for the wedding. It's got 160K miles on it, so I'm looking to make a few performance upgrades to keep it as sharp as possible and stretch the life of it as long as I can. It is completely stock now. I'm used to bigger trucks with bigger tires, wheels, exhaust, etc... but I haven't really gotten into mods and know zero about Pathfinder options. Any advice for a few reasonably priced mods to improve performance and longevity would be greatly appreciated... Thanks!

When you say "stock", do you mean the radiator has not been replaced? If it has not, replace it like yesterday. The alternative is a trans replacement of $4-6K. Failure will delay the wedding for some time.

Performance and longevity? I don't think those two really go together.

+1. Increasing performance means you're stressing the vehicle more which is going to shorten the life of the components.

As for reasonably priced mods, I just installed the XTP intake manifold spacer. http://extremetruckperformance.com/

cheap mods

Performance wise...cheap mods would be the airbox mod with a k+n filter or a true cold air intake like a volant. The xtp intake manifold spacer. Removing the y pipe on your exhaust and utilizing a 2 in/1 out muffler to free up exhaust flow. Then a tuner or some sort. The bullydogs are great for the pathfinders.

So, you're going to take your girl's Pathy so you can both save money to get married, but at the same time, you're going to dump money into performance mods? I guess you're not in a rush to get married?
