Well after 200k some things are starting to cause problems on my 05 Pathfinder. Both valve covers are leaking pretty badly and I cant find a write up on it, has anyone done them yet?

Sorry I can't help you with the valve covers but I was wondering have you ever had the timing chain and guides replaced on your truck?

I have my right side valve cover sitting in a box in my garage. They are plastic, so over time they will warp. Also the rubber seals are integral to them, so you can't just replace the rubber, you have to replace the whole cover.

Once you have the intake plenum off, the right side a no brainer. Left side is no issue whatsover.

If you want to replace the spark plug tube seals, you have to replace the entire valve cover.

Ok job is done! Wasn't as bad as expected. Stuff is starting to get brittle now, plug for the O2, and throttle body. Breather hose from valve cover to valve cover crumbled in my hands when I tried to remove it, breather pipe from right side cover to manifold is not to far behind (have to order them tomorrow). But all In all wasn't to bad of a job besides I forgot to hook up the right side coils before putting the Manila back on(got side tracked). She's leak free now!
Never had any tensioners or guides yet. I don't hear noise from there! But I think I might just do it for shits and giggles some day!!

If the timing chain isn't making noise, I wouldn't bother replacing them. It's not the type of job you'll want to do just for "shits and giggles!"
