Loss of power on take off

Hi guys today driving doing about 80km when I press the accelerator it lagged had no quick response I usually get off my 4cyl turbo diesel noticed the usual smoke behind but it was very retarded on power, I also noticed a deep sound from engine looked under but couldn't find anything, should I be checking the turbo as I did not hear it winding much but I will check tomorrow....can you guys advise me anything else to look for it also has powerchip module but seems ok.
