I guess these seals are leaking on my 2005. From the parts catalog it looks like the CV shafts are bolted to a small inner axle. Anyone know how hard this job is? Do I have the pull the CV shafts or can theyou be moved out of the way after unbolting?

You can unbolt them and hang them with wire. Pulling the old seals is always a pain, you just have to keep at it. Factory service manual helps and I think it's hiding around here somewhere.

Takes a slide hammer to pull those half axles, but then they pop right out, so keep a hand under them!

I don't have to remove the back diff cover to get them out?

Before you replace them, check out this post:

After replacing the breather tube, my leak stopped.

Thanks for the heads up. I'll try fixing that first. The breather was part of what they wanted to fix. Probably knowing that's the problem.

So it was just the extension line that was plugged not the breather in the diff?

So thanks for the info Terry. I got 5ft of 1/4" fuel hose and replaced the line from the diff out. I need to get some type of filter for the end of the line. While I was there I replaced the fluid with AMSOIL Severe GearĀ® 75W-90. I think I'll do the front this week. Then the transfer case.

Was the old tube plugged like mine was?

Not 100% sure. I tried blowing in it and it seemed plugged. Put the air hose to it and it blow through. I then tried blowing through it again and it was clear but still hard to blow. Really thin tube. So I just replaced it with the 1/4" hose. And blew into the rear diff to make sure the breather was clear.
