Rear u-joint replacement

I've got a vibration from the rear and I am most certain it's the u-joints needing replaced or a drive shaft issue.
Here is my question - Can you replace the u-joints on the rear drive shaft? You cannot on our Subaru (had to replace the entire shaft) so I wanted to make sure that you can with the Pathfinder.
Other question - How many u-joints on the rear? 2? What is the average cost to have a shop swap these out?
Thanks!

If the U joints are the same as the fronts its better to replace the drive axle. I had a quote from Midas to replace my fronts for $250 each. Id pay that if I didn't want to do the work myself.

Looks like my aftermarket warranty covers the rear diff. I'll just have to run it down to the Nissan dealer and have them take a look at it I suppose.....

They are replaceable. Make sure to replace with ones that have a grease zerk on them.

Front and rears are replaceable. The factory units are Spicers, which are available on the aftermarket with grease fittings, but Moog is an excellent option. They do have different part numbers depending on whether the driveshaft yokes are aluminum or steel; the size is the same, but the ones for the aluminum yokes are designed to be less inclined to corrode with the aluminum. Rockauto.com has them at good prices.

Awesome info, and thanks to all of you for the quick reply. Going to take it to a shop on Thursday and have them replace the u-joints, hoping that my drive shaft is not out of balance.
