Forgot to switch to 2WD - Concerned about damaged drivetrain

Hello guys,

I just recently changed from a 2008 R51 SE V6 model to a late 2012 R51 LE V6 truck.
As I am living in the sandpit I go quite often into the desert with the car.
Yesterday I was stupid enough to forget to switch back to 2WD after getting back to the highway and refilling the tires.
With the old Pathfinder I would directly feel if I was still in 4H mode - For a reason I cannot understand this was not the case with the new one.

So what I basically did is driving 130 kilometres at ~ 120-140 kmph in 4H mode

The owners manual says that driving at speeds above 100 kmph could damage drivetrain components.

Do you think this already has happened now and is there anything what I can do to check for a caused damage?

Side note: The Pathfinder was just 2 weeks ago serviced at Nissan Abu Dhabi (45.000 km service, valid for 10.000 km / synthetical oil applied).

Thanks in advance and a good evening from Abu Dhabi!

I wouldn't sweat it. Maybe swap the front differential/transfer case fluids earlier than usual next time but I don't think you'd hurt anything. Not nearly as bad as if you were driving around and making a lot of turns.

The key word is "could." If you haven't noticed anything wrong by now, I wouldn't worry about it.

I've done this before and had no problems other than that my u joints went bad about 6 months later. Im at 150,000 miles so the u joints could have been bad from unrelated reasons. I'd say you are probably okay.

Thanks to the moderator and all other guys who have kindly replied so far. :)
Can someone describe how possible symptoms of a damaged drive train would look like?
Swapping the front differential/transfer case fluids earlier than usual seems to be reasonable to me. Is that a costly operation at Nissan?

Your drivetrain has a lot of parts, including your transmission, transfer case, driveshafts, axles, etc. You would likely "feel" or "hear" a failing drivetrain part long before you would see it.

these 4x4 systems are built very tough. I pound on my V8 4x4 awd shift it in and out under full power. going 0 to 60 mph or 0 to 100 kilometers per hour in 4 seconds, and nothing ever broke in last 6 years.
like the guys said if something went bad you would have felt it right away.

Lots of moving and rotating parts in there. Clunking or very noticeable vibrations would be the first symptom. Usually, if you have to ask, you're probably fine. ;)
