Water damage to clutch

Is it possible to cause water damage to the clutch of a pathfinder by completing a water crossing?

you have an R52? No clutch that I am aware of...

In most cases no, although, it might accelerate rusting issues. The bellhousing has a pretty tight fit and it's not easy for it to fill up with water even during such a crossing unless it's for an extended time.

That sounds good. This is the crossing I am told has done the damage. The vehicle has been through this possibly around 20 times over the period of 3 months.
Do these pathfinders have a history of weak clutches?

Hard to answer that as we can't get the manual trans in the R51 Pathfinder in North America. We could get them in the R50 Pathfinder with the VQ35DE and I don't recall any issues with them.

As SMJ already said, no, it's not likely.
Especially not in the poodle, shown in video, as it is also under 45 cm of allowed wading depth.
If you go deeper you might get water in rear diff, as it has breather hose relatively low (and lower than other breathing tubes).
But cluthch...no. Even if it get's soaked, it will dry without degradation in performance. Except if you'd be letting it sit in salt water for few days....well, that might ruin clutch bearing most probably.
