Air pump rattle noise

My 2008 v6 with 130 thousand easy miles has got a little rattling going on in the right hand side of the engine compartment .

Looks to me to be the pollution pump, it sits right above the alternator .

The noise tends to come and go,but has me concerned as I am out of town.

Is this a common failure?

On another note.

Also wondering how concerned I have to be about my fuel pump with a 130 thousand on it?

Do you have to drop the tank to install it?

Would help if we knew what engine you have. On the VQ40DE, there is no air pump. The power steering pump sits above the alternator on the passenger side of the engine.
The fuel tank has to be lowered to replace the fuel pump. On the whole, they've been pretty reliable. If it's not broke, leave it alone would be my advice.
