I have a 2008 Pathfinder with the 5.6 and i'm looking to get a more aggressive exhaust tone out of it. I want to put on a Flowmaster 50 series but when I looked underneath there was an exhaust set up I wasn't familiar with. It looks like 2 mufflers running through the same pipe. Is the one on the end a resonator? How will that affect the tone if I did swap in the 50 series? Any help would be appreciated.

There is a main muffler and a post muffler. If you are going to replace a muffler for a more aggressive sound, it's the main muffler that you want to replace. You can either keep or remove the post muffler, but, personally, I would keep it.

The last muffler won't dampen the sound at all?

Some, but it also takes out the "buzz" you sometimes get when installing a low restriction muffler. It might not be so bad with the V8, but it does make a difference on the V6 model.
